SALES ASSISTANT

Reports to: Marketing Director

Primary Function:

The Sales Assistant performs general clerical and administrative duties within the Sales Department and provides back-up assistance to the Sales Service Specialists, Estimators, and Sales Department in general.

Essential Functions

1. Support the customer service functions of the Sales and Service Specialists.
a. Communications with customers by telephone or in writing providing pricing quotations, shipping information, and product information.
b. Maintain a thorough knowledge of products, pricing, and services provided by Algoma Hardwoods, Inc.
c. Complete all quote revisions as directed by Sales Service Specialist.

2. Write stock orders and sample orders.

3. Prepare all new orders to go to Order Processing:
a. Fill out blue Credit Approval Sheet and enter into computer's order log
b. Pull quotation from file
c. Be sure all schedules & necessary information are here and forward to order write up

4. Filing of quotations and orders for Sales Service Specialist, follow up on missing information cards, and any other duties Sales Service Specialist may need assistance with.

5. Write advanced order letters.

6. Support the functions of the Estimators position as directed by the Sales and Service Manager.
a. Prepare price quotations from written customer requests.
b. Maintain a thorough knowledge of products, pricing, and services provided by Algoma Hardwoods, Inc.

7. Switchboard during operators breaks, lunch and absences.

Back up some duties for Sales Secretary on a daily basis and in his/her absence.
