PRODUCTION WORKER

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Position Overview: The Production Worker is primarily responsible for performing all duties assigned to him or her as directed by the Production Supervisor. This includes the safe and efficient operation pieces of machinery and equipment required to be operated in the assigned work center.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Read and interpret written manufacturing orders and perform the necessary operations required to complete the orders accurately and timely. Inform machine operator of any noted discrepancies or questionable items.

2. Learn and maintain sufficient working knowledge of each piece of machinery or equipment in your assigned work center to assist the machine operator in the efficient and safe operation of this machinery and equipment.

3. Assist in performing regular routine maintenance as required and notifying machine operator of any equipment malfunction or possible safety concerns.

4. Complete all necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner which may be required.

5. Maintain a clean and organized workstation.

6. Maintain a working knowledge of all quality control guidelines which are assigned to your workstation. Notify machine operator immediately of doors not meeting quality guidelines in order to eliminate the shipment of poor quality doors.


Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Minimum of one year of production experience, preferably in the wood products industry. This position requires familiarity with wood product related machinery and equipment.

This position requires the ability to read and accurately interpret various documents (i.e. machining sheets, work orders and templates). This includes the ability to accurately read tape measurements and calculate basic fractions.

Given the nature of our business, the manufacturing of wood doors, the physical requirements and working conditions of this position include but are not limited to the following: assisting co-workers with the transportation of doors which weigh an average of 100 to 120 pounds, working with machinery and equipment which generate saw dust where respiratory equipment may be required and which may expose you to cuts, lacerations and slivers.
