NEW ENGLAND REGIONAL SALES MANAGER
Reports to:
Executive Vice-President of Sales & Marketing
Primary Function
Manage sales and marketing activities under the direction of Vice President of Sales and Marketing to increase market share in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Identify the key architectural and design firms in the different areas. May involve calls, partial day seminars, or invitations to Partners in Quality meetings in Algoma.
2. Track large jobs to insure Algoma is provided an opportunity to bid the projects. Provide bid follow-up to maximize Algoma’s opportunity to secure the job.
3. Analyze customer base (Hollow Metal/Hardware and Architectural Millwork) for selective distribution, working with high quality companies that represent Algoma well.
4. Identify strengths and weaknesses of competitors in the territories.
5. Clearly identify smaller distributors with potential for growth and design and implement plans to realize that growth.
6. Increase market share while maintaining corporate margin expectations
Work with Credit to ensure prompt handling of delinquent accounts and manage
receivables as per Corporate objectives.
Consult on final resolutions of major claims to ensure that they are handled promptly, fairly and in a manner that protects the profitability and reputation of the Company.
Participate in preparation of company sales, strategic and profitability plans.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum of three years of experience in building materials sales is desired. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion and initiative. Substantial travel is required. Position reports to the Executive VP of Sales & Marketing.
